Maybe you would like to audition for our next production.
What happens in an audition?
First of all - it is not as scary as you might think! The word audition can be daunting, but really we just want to meet you and see what you can offer.
We'll send you some audition pieces, and it is not essential that you learn them; just get to know them a bit. When you arrive, we'll all get together for a chat and get to know one another before we begin. The general agenda will be something like this:
We meet in the audition room and introduce ourselves.
Ian Cullen (our director) will then ask a couple of people to begin the audition - he chooses these at random but if you are new to the group he won't ask you to go first as it's always helpful to watch the group veterans give it a go so you know what to expect!
You'll be asked to have a go, and Ian will give you some direction to see how you take to it.
You will probably be asked to read more than one part, as will everyone, and you'll have the opportunity to act with other auditionees.
We'll have a break halfway through, which is a great opportunity to chat to people who are auditioning for the first time or who have been a member of the FSC for a number of years.
Once the audition has finished, Ian will take into account everyone who has auditioned, regardless of their length of service in the company. You'll then be notified by phone or email on what part you will play, if you have been successful.
The main thing to remember is that we are a group who like to have fun, and you'll always be welcome to come along, meet us and have a go! So why not give it a try.
See you soon!
Ellie.
