Dear FSC Supporters

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

The auditions for our summer production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream were highly successful with lots of new and exciting talent coming forward to take part.

It is with great pleasure that I set out below the cast list for the play, which takes place in the Performing Arts Centre at Frensham Heights School, Rowledge from Wednesday 21st to Saturday 24th July 2010.

(The Cast can be seen on this page)

VENUE: PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE, FRENSHAM HEIGHTS

This is the first time we have used this venue and what a wonderful venue it is!
Not only does it have magnificent facilities backstage with modern lighting and sound systems, it also comfortably seats an audience of over 300. There is ample parking and extensive green spaces around the theatre itself where, should we be blessed with fine weather, one could enjoy a picnic prior to watching the play.

We all feel very excited about doing a summer show again and hope you will support our latest venture in these excellent surroundings.
Why not bring a picnic and make a family outing of it!

FRONT OF HOUSE

With the bigger theatre comes the added need for extra help front-of-house. Ideally, I would like 4 stewards + 2 bar staff for each performance.
PLEASE consider offering your help for one or more of the performances.

I can be contacted by email: enquiries@farnhamshakespeare.co.uk
or by phone: 0777 937 4363.

“PAGE TO STAGE” WORKSHOP

Between the shows on Saturday, 24th July, Ian Cullen and members of the cast will be offering an informal workshop to talk about staging a Shakespeare play and all that this involves from verse speaking to technical details. It will start a few minutes after the curtain has gone down on the matinee at about 5pm. Whether your interest is acting or backstage or you are just curious, why not join us and find out how it is done! Everyone is welcome.

ADVERTISING/SPONSORSHIP

Do you run or work for a local company? Would you like to consider supporting our production by advertising your company in our programme? As a not-for-profit organisation, Farnham Shakespeare Company is looking for sponsorship from businesses and individuals alike.

We are planning to produce a smart A5 programme to accompany our production of the Dream. Companies are invited to submit their own advertising material. Individual sponsors will also be acknowledged on a special sponsors’ page in the programme. All enquires should be emailed to Jeremy Newton at jeremy.newton@tlawa.co.uk

REGENTS PARK OUTDOOR THEATRE

Margot Tringham is organising a trip to see a matinee performance of
The Comedy of Errors, on Saturday, July 3rd at 2.30pm. The tickets cost £26 each and are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Please let her know by FRIDAY, May 14th if you would like a ticket.
