The company was formed in 1992 by a group of Shakespeare enthusiasts with a vision of presenting an outdoor production of one of the Bard's plays in the Farnham Library Gardens for a week's run each summer. The company also ventured out to present plays at the Redgrave Theatre in Farnham, now lost to us, and the Electric Theatre in Guildford.

After a successful production of Much Ado About Nothing in the summer of 2003, the Company faltered until the Autumn of 2006, when a few stalwart members of the FSC showed their determination to see the Company up and running again. The FSC now has an enthusiastic committee of nine who are keen to guide it back to its former prominence on Farnham's theatrical scheme.

The re-launched Company staged a production of The Taming of the Shrew at the Bourne Hall in October 2007 to enthusiastic audiences. We also gave a charity performance at High Cross Church in Camberley, and a condensed play of five acts was well received at the Woking Festival. For various reasons it was not possible to stage this first production in the Library Gardens, but we hope to return to our spiritual home there as soon as circumstances permit. Our next major show will be The Merry Wives of Windsor in October 2008, again at the Bourne Hall. We are also putting on a two night run of The Shakespeare Revue at the end of June.
